Ultimate core control
Tougher core control and stability workout
- Difficulty: Tougher
- Length: 43 minutes
This is a tough mat based class working through movements to engage and challenge our deep abdominal core muscles. Warming up in standing we then come down onto the mat to continue the class. The class does include a few challenging movements so always work to a level that you feel comfortable with.
This class includes:
- Bow and arrow stretch
- Squat in standing
- Side plie with heel raises
- Roll downs
- Planks with mountain climb
- Child pose stretch
- Side bend with hip dips
- Clam with toe taps
- Lift and lower
- One leg stretch with abdominal prep
- Bridging with leg extension
- One leg circle
- Scissors
- Glute and hamstring stretches
- Sitting Y stretch and side bend
- Mermaid stretch in sitting
We start the class by warming up in standing challenging our movement control and balance before rolling down into four-point kneeling. In this position we then test our core and upper body with a plank and combine in some mountain climb movements. Moving onto our sides we work our obliques with a side bend and strengthen our glutes with a clam exercise.
Moving around onto our backs we continue to engage and strengthen our deep abdominal core muscles with exercises including a one leg stretch Bridging, one leg circle and scissors. Cooling down with some gentle back, leg and upper body stretches.

Thanks for a great class today. Was feeling very stiff after too many hours in front of a computer screen. This was just what I needed.
Really loved this class. Thank you so much.
Glad you enjoyed it Lesley.
Brilliant class, thank you Vicky.
Really enjoying your classes Vicky.
A very satisfying class; I enjoyed the slightly more challenging exercises and will try more of the “tough” classes.
Glad you enjoyed it Molly. Let me know how you get on with some of the tougher classes 🙂

This was pretty tough! Especially mobilising those stiff hips 🙂
