Mobility flow Pilates

Short class offering a sequence of exercises to help move and strengthen throughout the body.

  • Length: 21 minutes

This is a short class that follows a nice sequence of exercises to help move and strengthen throughout the body. We begin the class in sitting then move into four-point kneeling and onto our backs on the mat. As always please work to a level that you feel safe and comfortable to do.

This class includes:

  • Sitting – book opener, arm cross and reaches
  • Four-point kneeling cat stretch to child pose
  • Thread the needle
  • Leg fold and stretch
  • Child pose – cobra stretch
  • Bridging with arm raises
  • Abo prep with one leg stretch
  • Arm and leg scissors
  • Rotation stretch
  • Sitting – mermaid

We begin the class in sitting with a book opener and arm cross and reach stretches to gently mobilise the upper body and open out through the chest. We then move into four-point kneeling and mobilise through the spine with a cat stretch and combined child pose stretch. We continue to stretch the spine into rotation with a thread the needle movement. Moving onto our elbows we then work our glutes with a leg fold and stretch. We then stretch the spine further with a combined child pose and cobra stretch.

Moving onto our backs we combine strengthening and mobility with a bridge, one leg stretch with abdo prep and arm and leg scissors movements. Cooling down on the mat with a gentle rotation stretch of the spine and a mermaid stretch in sitting.

    Thanks for another lovely class. I tried a different one to start with but my resistance band was shorter than yours and did not stretch sufficiently. I would love to have your recommendations for where to buy equipment and also if you ever decided to sell equipment through your site I would be very interested to buy. Thanks very much for all your classes.
