Challenging all-over workout

Class to put you through your paces. An all-over workout incorporating a series of core and abdominal sequences.

In this class:

  • Standing side flexion
  • Standing hip twist
  • One leg circle in standing
  • Roll downs
  • Bridging with pelvic dips
  • Criss-cross
  • Scissors
  • Side kick
  • Swan dive
  • Cobra stretch

We begin in standing opening our arms before a series of exercises including the standing clam and side plie before rolling down onto the mat and into 4 point kneeling.

In 4 point kneeling we run through a short series joining together the cat stretch, pike and cobra movements before rolling onto our sides to work through a sequence of oblique lifts and leg lifts.

We then roll onto our back for some challenging core and ab exercises including criss cross and double leg stretch.

Finally we warm down in sitting with some gentle spine twists and Y stretches.

Excellent class = thanks Vicky. I do believe my bottom muscles are getting better at working after too many years of sitting on them!

Thankyou Vicky, really enjoyed this class with some new exercises. Feel as though I’ve had a thorough all round workout.!!

Really enjoyed trying some new exercises in this class. And the new headset works brilliantly!

The best thing about the way you teach is that you remind us which muscles should be doing each movement. Quite often, I’ve been using the wrong ones. But once I know, I can work on trying to get the right ones to kick in. And it’s working – there are exercises I can do now, using the right muscles, that I could only do by using the wrong ones a few months ago. It’s so satisfying to feel myself gradually getting stronger and more aware of my body and how it moves. And for someone who hated sport at school and feels quite intimidated by exercise culture, that’s a big deal. Thanks Vicky.

This is a great new class Vicky, and even though some of the exercises were a challenge, I really like the way you remind us to take easier options when necessary- and keep reminding us. I feel so much better after one of your classes and this one is no exception. Thank you.

Thank you. I really really enjoyed this class at the end of the a day with the kids. It is a long time since I have done Pilates and this has made me realise how much I have missed it. I will certainly be back for another class.

Thanks for this longer class. The bridge with pelvic dips was very interesting! The head lift with “small peach under the chin” was also good, especially with the arms added. My back/shoulders need strengthening, so I wanted to hold that stretch a bit longer.
